Understanding Different B12 Supplements!

Do you currently take B12 supplements? Have you noticed a difference? Time to explore the science:  

-Worst form, due to a number of factors.
-Most popular form in supplements.
-Cheaper and easier to produce.
-Cyanocobalamin is synthesized in laboratories and does not naturally occur in the human body.
-Once it is introduced to your system, your body then converts it into methylcobalamin, the active form, of which it exerts it's effects.

-Appropriate for anaemia, since it aids with the synthesis of red blood cells, along with Iron.
-Helps reduce homocysteine, alongside Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B9.
-Used to manage pain, promoting nerve health, through it's positive effect on myelination.
-Addresses sleep-wake rhythm problems, via improving circadian rhythm.
(Zhang et al., 2013).

-Man-made injectable form of vitamin B12 used to treat low levels (deficiency) of this vitamin.
-Excellent for oxidative stress.
-Longer half life. approximately (3-20 hours).
-Can also be used sublingually/orally.
Hydroxocobalamin prevents and reverses endotoxin-induced hypotension and mortality in rodents: role of nitric oxide (Greenberg et al., 1995).
-Well tolerated/minimal side effects.

-Supports mitochondrial function, thereby enhances ATP production.
-Excellent for nerve support.
-Supports the Krebs cycle and cellular energy production.

B12 supplements differ in quality, cost and impaction human physiology. B12 has numerous benefits for energy levels and overall health. Living a life deficient in this B-Vitamin will leave you feeling disadvantaged compared to your peers. Again, correcting deficiencies can go a long way to improve your overall health and vitality.
