💡HOW IS MY DIET IMPACTING MY GUT HEALTH?
There are many foods that can support the growth of HEALTHY gut bacteria, whilst simultaneously eliminating excess bad ones. Feed YOUR gut microbiome, and your brain will respond by releasing feel good neurotransmitters (Jones et al., 2017). Disturbed gut microbiota is associated with ANHEDONIA, Excess Serotonin, Anxiety and depression.
🥗WHICH CHEMICALS ARE IN MY FOOD :
Not necessarily the BAD ones, like glyphosate/round-up, but rather, focusing on PLANT chemicals and flavonoids, which have a plethora of health benefits, for every single organ in your body (Harry et al., 2009).
💎WHICH AMINO ACIDS ARE IN MY FOOD?
Amino acids serve as the building blocks to BRAIN chemicals, some can HEAL the gut, and others can improve collagen production (Johns et al., 2011). Is your diet supplying you with enough amino acids?
🌐WHICH VITAMINS/MINERALS ARE IN MY FOOD:
Vitamins and minerals are needed to sustain OPTIMAL life. Without them, you die. Any single vitamin deficiency is very serious, and will undoubtedly affect you. If your diet supplies you with ALL the vitamins and minerals you need, well done. But then we have ABSORPTION, too... that's an entire new post.
Looking at food simply from a caloric/macronutrient standpoint will only get you so far. If you’re striving for OPTIMAL health and wellbeing, it’s likely you’re already viewing food very differently to the ‘average joe’. Who’s in with me?
